Traditional Catholics are well aware of Francis’ relentlessefforts to eradicate the traditional Catholic Mass. He has followed up his“Traditionis custodes” edict with subsequent demands that his bishops squelchthe traditional Mass throughout the world. Despite the reluctance of some neworder bishops to outright ban the Mass, groups such as the Fraternity of Saint Peterand Institute of Christ the King are well aware of Francis’ disdain for thetrue Mass and the threat that poses to them. Oddly enough, such groups — whichformed in the attempt to practice the traditional Catholic Faith within themodernists’ New Order — continue to pretend that they are fully approved and inthe good graces of the Vatican and that priests of traditional Catholicsocieties, such as the Society of Saint Pius V, are not approved by the NewOrder modernists and are therefore not legitimate and not Catholic. But twopoints help to dispel their accusations: (1) The only reason such groups as theFraternity of Saint Peter and the Institute of Christ the King still have a1962 Latin Mass today is because there were priests before them who, despitecondemnations and denunciations from the Vatican, kept offering the traditionalMass when it was strictly forbidden by the authorities in the Vatican foralmost 20 years. And (2) those heroic traditional priests understood that no authoritycould ever legitimately forbid the traditional Mass.

Now the New-Order-approved groups have already conceded thatthe modernists of the New Order have the authority to permit them and to forbidthem to hold the traditional Mass. Since they've been boasting that they havethe necessary authorization to offer the traditional Mass, and condemning thosewho don’t have that permission, what will they do when that “permission” is taken away? Will they “obey” by abandoning the true Mass,and abandoning themselves to the New Mass? Will they forsake the traditionalRoman Rite of Mass and adopt the sacrilegious New Order of Paul VI? Or willthey cast off the pretense of approval needed for Catholic priests to offer thetrue Mass, and thus admit the truth that no authority can legitimately orderthe destruction of the true Mass, forbid priests from offering it and theCatholic people from attending it?
